Cav. Lav. Pierantonio Riello

Pierantonio Riello was born in Venice in 1959. Heir to a family of entrepreneurs whose roots date back to 1922, at the age of 25 he launched his first independent entrepreneurial venture.

In 1992, his passion for electronics led him to establish Telital, an Italian start-up specializing in the design and production of the first mobile phones, the so-called TACS. Over six years of strong growth, he led the company to success, eventually deciding to sell it in order to focus on the development of power conversion systems (UPS).

From 1988 to 2007, he served first as a Member of the Board of Directors and later as Deputy Vice Chairman of a local Cooperative Credit Bank. He subsequently held the position of Independent Director at Banca Popolare di Verona (2007–2013) and, finally, served as a Member of the Board of Directors and of the Remuneration Committee of Cattolica Assicurazioni (2019–2020).

In addition to his role as an entrepreneur, Pierantonio Riello is also actively involved in social initiatives. Among others, he established a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee engaged in projects aimed at supporting the most disadvantaged segments of the population, particularly in India, where the Riello Elettronica Group operates its own manufacturing facility.

A respectful lover of the environment and nature, he created a natural reserve of approximately 600 hectares in the heart of the Verona plain, dedicated to preserving the typical flora and fauna of the area. In 2016, part of this land was granted to the local municipality for educational use by schools and by those with a passion for nature, birdwatching, and photography.

On 13 June 2018, he was appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in recognition of his professional success built upon a long-standing entrepreneurial tradition rooted in Verona and its territory. This bond is tangibly expressed through direct support of charitable initiatives benefiting the local community, carried out through participation in the Fondazione della Comunità Veronese Onlus and, as a founding member, in the 'Fondazione Culturale Antonio Salieri' of Legnago (VR).
